The device license is something Microsoft offer with some of the other Dynamics 365 offerings. Before the device license every user of Dynamics 365 Business Central required an individual login to the system. Now you can license a device and anyone in your organisation can access the device without an individual login.
The device license is a limited license with a subset of Business Central capabilities. The device license is a per device per month subscription cost like the rest of Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses for cloud. The device licenses start from £30.20 per license.
With the Dynamics 365 Business Central Device license, multiple users can use a device that is licensed with a Dynamics 365 Business Central Device to operate a point of sale device, shop floor device, or warehouse device.
